About Texas Reggae
This website is a labor of love run by RJ Johnson often known as DJ-RJ. I host Reggae Evolution alternating Tuesdays from 7-10 PM on KAZI 88.7 FM in Austin. The focus of my show is positive modern roots & culture, mostly of Jamaican origin. I also do an R&B show Mondays from 1-3pm that features old-school and new R&B.
I have been playing drums professionally in the Austin reggae scene since 1987 and I also play bass guitar. I am currently working on productions for other artists and I am available for hire for pickup gigs. I do live sound, studio mixing, voiceovers, producing, and programming. Please contact me if you are interested in collaborating or working together. I am the audio engineer at Unity Center Austin where our teachings and meditations can be heard. I am an engineer on The Dad Show which airs on KAZI 88.7 FM from 6-7 PM on Tuesday evenings.
